Programs & Activities

 

Play stimulates creative thought and problem solving from infancy through adulthood. Social relationship skills are developed when we play with others. Research has proven the PLAY process is exceptionally powerful in stimulation of learning. One of the most effective ways to spark brain growth is through hands-on experiences using materials with no pre-determined use.

 

Workshops are provided for educators, families, and children. Field trips to the ReThink and ReUse Center are also available.

 

 

 

Educator Workshops

 

"Play and Learning with Recyclable Materials" provides recyclable resources and uses the materials to train educators to foster children's chances to improve school success skills and to establish lifelong ecological responsibility. Understanding the process of how and why children learn through hands-on play is critical to providing stimulating age appropriate learning activities to all ages.

 

The ReThink and ReUse Center provides educators a chance to learn to use recyclable materials (manufacturing by-products and materials from businesses headed to landfills). Educators are the role models that inspire children to think creatively and use the materials in a myriad of developmentally appropriate ways. The ReThink and ReUse Center provides materials and travels to early learning centers to remove barriers of cost, time, and transportation for educational improvement and advancement.

 

Workshops for educators and children are also offered at our facility where there is an opportunity to select materials. Workshops are presented in English and Spanish.

 

Workshops and Field Trips for Children and Youth

Children are natural researchers and the hands-on experience with our unusual materials sparks creativity, fosters, learning skills in a risk-free environment, and develops the beginning of environmental responsibility. Schedule a field trip when children play with the materials and learn about our local environment. There is a small cost for the field trip and materials that are selected to take back with them.

 

 

"Green Girls Night Out"

 

The fun just begins when you schedule a girl's night out. We provide the ideas and materials and you provide the refreshments for a night of creative and time away from hectic lives.
